Thank you to all the amazing team at SRC, who undertook a fundraising challenge and rowed a marathon distance on the River Thames this week. The team raised £4,000 towards the costs of providing activities for young people and saw the river from a completely new angle.
The row from Shadwell to Chiswick and back (26 miles) passes so many iconic London landmarks, including Tower Bridge, the London Eye and the Palace of Westminster. The timing was perfect, as Tower Bridge was raised as we approached and then Big Ben rang out just as we reached Westminster. Arrival at Chiswick brought a much needed break for lunch before the return journey back through town.
Events like this are an important part of the Centre’s fundraising efforts and we really appreciate all the hard work that individuals and companies such as SRC put in to help us reach our targets.
Thank you all so much!
